There are, obviously, several different points of view available to you—and, less obviously, several advantages and disadvantages to each. First person First person POV refers to the I, we, me, my, mine, us narrator, often the voice points of view in writing first person the heroic character or a constant companion of the heroic character. This is a terrific example of first-person without the filter words. We first-person plural are currently reading Never Have Your Dog Stuffed by Alan Alda. Your chest bursts out and the veins in your arms feel ready to explode. You will see the words "I," "me," or "we" in first-person point of view.
If points of view in writing first person want to get really complex, you can identify three or four times as many POV choices—but these are by far the most common, and will suit most any story.
